Kim went far and beyond the call of duty in caring for critically ill patients during the Labor Day weekend back in September. Although there is no hyperbaric nurse on-call for performing hyperbaric oxygen therapy for patients on weekends or in the evenings, Kim stepped up to the plate. She came in to care for a patient who required hyperbaric oxygen therapy due to a crush wound/open fracture with poor tissue viability Saturday, Sunday and Monday of Labor Day weekend. As if that wasn't enough, she came in again Labor Day Monday evening to treat a patient who had carbon monoxide poisoning. If it were not for Kim coming in a second time Monday, this second patient would have required transfer to a tertiary care facility for treatment. Kim sacrificed her holiday weekend to care for patients in need. Her dedication to her patients is beyond reproach. She is truly an outstanding nurse who Meritus Health should be proud to have as part of our team.
