It was an extremely hectic day on both units and Kim remained so positive!
Kim came to our tele floor to administer Rituxan, which is primarily given on RIONCH. Due to the patient’s current state, she required staying on tele to receive a Velletri infusion. Kim was extremely helpful to me and the patient. She paged the providers many times, anticipated the needs of our patient, used the translator, helped her to the bathroom, and educated me on the use of her drug that I was not familiar with. It was an extremely hectic day on both units and Kim remained so positive!
I felt very comfortable with her helping, her expertise showed with the meds, protocols, calling the MD for consent, etc. I am thankful to her for leaving her unit that was on fire, to come to my unit (also on fire) and seamlessly being thorough and in tune with everything. It’s awesome to have others to call to help us and teach us, all to provide the best possible care to all patients, under our roof, all with a smile!
A+++++++++ to Kim, thank you!!!!
She also was supposed to leave at 2130, when I came to work the next day, unfortunately, the patient was transferred to ICU later that shift, but Kim wrote a note at 2240. She stayed past her shift to wrap up everything and make sure the patient was okay.
