I was able to concentrate and focus on having my baby because she just makes you feel at ease, and I knew she would always advocate for me.
This was my third time showing up to Labor and delivery. I had already had Kristina during my second stay in L and D, and she was always advocating for me and super helpful. When I got discharged for the second time, I had gotten anxious that I would have to be discharged again and again. After a Miscarriage and pregnancy hormones, mentally, I was having a hard time and would cry at home and was scared of the next time I would go into Labor and delivery, and I would have to go home yet again without my baby. When I showed up on Thursday and heard I was going to be given a night nurse named Kristina, I remember mentioning to my husband I hoped it was her, but I had doubted I would get lucky to have her again since she's normally a 5 pm to 5 am shift. Thankfully, that week, she was scheduled for a 7 pm to 7 am shift, and knowing that she would now be my nurse, all my fears and anxieties went out the door. I was able to concentrate and focus on having my baby because she just makes you feel at ease, and I knew she would always advocate for me. I am truly great fun for her and so thankful. She understood my husband's and family's language barriers and always made sure to address them so they were in the loop as well. My family loved having her and the way she cared for me from start to finish. I will always be grateful to her for making this experience the best one.
