We had a patient who was mildly confused and due to go home. Because I-70 was closed at Glenwood Springs, the patient's daughter booked him a flight home. Kristina found the patient crying because he was afraid he would not be able to maneuver himself to the plane once he got to the airport. Kristina contacted a friend that works for United Airlines and was able to get some guidance and a phone number to customer assistance, which enabled Kristina to set everything up for the patient. Kristina gave instructions to the Uber driver to call a number upon arrival at the airport and then a customer assistance employee would come directly to the car with a wheelchair and get the patient to his plane. This was truly faith-based care and an example of an associate going above and beyond to make sure all the patient's needs were met.
