Kristine was nominated for her quick actions that helped save a man's life. The man, his son and two grandsons were in a car on their way to an event, when he began to experience symptoms of a cardiac arrest. The son immediately turned the car around and headed towards Saint Agnes. Upon arriving, the grandson alerted the Security guard that his grandfather was having a heart attack or stroke in the car. Kristine, along with a few other colleagues, immediately rushed out to the car. Kristine instructed staff to get the man on to a gurney and perform CPR on their way into the Emergency Room.
"In my opinion, Kristine was in charge of not only the Emergency Room but most importantly, of saving my husband's life," the man's wife wrote. "She was then very helpful to us by communicating with my son, my grandsons, and me. She came into the quiet room multiple times to give us updates."
After receiving treatment in the ER, the man was then transferred to the ICU. His family members appreciated the time Kristine took to later visit and check up on him.
"It was not only exciting to see her again, but I was able to ask her questions I had since the incident happened that she was able to answer and clarify for me about my husband's emergency experience. I will never be able to thank her enough for her efforts in saving my husband's life."
