I came into the SSM ER with left leg numbness and severe pain in the afternoon. Got an MRI and was informed my L4-L5 disc had blown through the envelope. It was the worst pain I had ever experienced in my life. I was upset and scared the whole time, waiting to see what the neurosurgery consult was going to say. I was admitted as an inpatient to SSM St. Mary's Janesville that night. Just about 15 min after arriving at the unit, I began having a new symptom which could involve transferring to Madison.

My nurse, the first night at Janesville, was Kyleigh Kreager. She was probably the sweetest, most attentive nurse I've ever dealt with. She listened to my worries, and just her compassion and empathy were so strong that my fears would dissipate when she was in the room. She was always on time with meds, so we stayed in front of my plain. She never left me worried about anything and if I had a question, she got it answered for me.
