My dad received unbelievable care from Lacey Anderson. Her knowledge was comforting, but her caring and compassion were even more. I am writing today about the last days of my dad's life. My dad suffered from Parkinson's Disease. At the end, it is not a kind disease. The fear he experienced was so sad. He thought he was falling or someone was trying to get him. He was afraid to eat or drink because he did not want to choke. Lacey was right there to help him. I remember, one night in the middle of the night it happened. Lacey came quickly to help, she held his hand and stroked his head telling him it would be alright. Lacey was the one nurse who helped our family through the worst time of our lives. She was the one who helped us understand what he was going through. Unfortunately, my dad did not get better. As we left, we knew we were leaving an extraordinary nurse. I can only imagine how many lives she has touched. I know my family considers ourselves very lucky that Lacey cared for my dad. I hope the Baton Rouge General realizes how fortunate they are to have a nurse like Lacey.
