Laissa was recognized by her critically ill oncology patient. She is a nurse who comforts and gives patients and families hope for recovery or peaceful passing. Laissa's patient recovered from a life-threatening blood cancer. Her patient came back to the Oncology Unit to thank Laissa for being "there" during the darkest days and never giving up hope. Laissa provided care, comfort, and a gentle approach when they needed it the most. The patient also wrote that Laissa wasn't just "giving him chemotherapy", Laissa was giving "all her love and attention" to provide comfort and support to both the patient and his wife. She cared for the entire family. Thank you, Laissa.
