I cannot just list one situation where Laura demonstrated how she meets the criteria for this award because her overall extraordinary care made a difference in our lives while we were under her care. She always made us feel as though we were her top priority even though I know my husband was only one of her patients. Laura continually exercised patience with us and took the time to make sure we were confident before leaving. She was very professional but always had a wonderful sense of humor and we were able to laugh, which helped lighten the heavy load we were under. Laura was so caring that as we were told we may be leaving the hospital on a Saturday, I felt she could read my mind and we talked afterward. She sensed my anxiety about going home before home health was arranged. She took the time I needed to thoroughly cover everything I would need to know to care for my husband. I am so deeply grateful for Laura and I feel I can now call her a friend.
