Laura cared for my Grandad in the last two days of his life and was exceptional! Words cannot express how grateful I and my family are to her for the care she gave not only my Grandad but us. Laura was competent, compassionate and extremely caring, despite being extremely busy. She took the time to talk to us, explain things thoroughly and check up on us regularly.
My mum and I are nurses but when it is your loved one in this situation, despite our knowledge, it was an extremely frightening and distressing time that Laura made so much better.
Even in the last few hours of my Grandad's life when he was unresponsive, she spoke to him as if he could respond, explaining to him exactly what she was doing. After he passed away she took the time to go through the 'what happens next' booklet even though she could have just left us to do that ourselves.
The end of life care she gave my Grandad was fabulous; she ensured he was comfortable and asked our opinion on how we thought he was doing.
I cannot thank Laura enough for everything, she really does deserve recognition.
