My mother is living with stage 4 breast cancer and was recently admitted into Salem Hospital because of complication due to cancerous growths on her liver. Because of the severity of her condition, my long time boy friend and I decided to get married in her hospital room so she could participate in the ceremony.

Laura was our night nurse the day we decided on this plan and she became immediately interested in helping us make it a special ceremony. She originally offered help with decorations, but after a night of brainstorming (and a few phone calls) she had lined up an appointment at a local bridal gallery to borrow clothes/accessories, donated flowers and three local stylists to do hair/makeup. Laura did many of the flower arrangements herself and came early to the conference room we borrowed to help decorate. She even made the bridal bouquet!

The room was beautiful; she really went above and beyond the call of duty to make it an unforgettable evening for her patient (my mom) and our whole family.
