Laura is my primary care provider working at the Barneveld office. Laura cares deeply for her patients and their families. 2 years ago I was not feeling well and because I have always been an active and healthy individual I thought 'this too shall pass”. I became extremely fatigued, weak and was losing weight. Calling Laura was what I needed to do and thank God is all I can say.

Laura responded immediately insisting that I get to her office ASAP. I knew she was concerned. Slowly and with evident caring behavior she examined me and ordered a variety of diagnostic tests. She sent me home with explicit instructions and said she would be in touch the following day. That very evening she called and with a calm voice sent me directly to the ER where she would make contact. I was admitted and diagnosed with possible cancer. All this was during the Covid epidemic so securing the exact professional expertise on that weekend was of concern not only to me but Laura. She was my advocate and was in constant contact with my family.

I was transferred to specialists at the University of VT Medical Center arriving there via helicopter. Laura was instrumental in my eventual survival from day 1. Her professional knowledge base, her experienced assessment skills, and her excellent interpersonal skills were above and beyond my expectations. Laura listened attentively to my family addressing their concerns and answering all questions. She took an enormous amount of her free time returning phone calls which demonstrated her concern and compassionate, caring behavior.

While I was hospitalized in VT Laura kept the lines of communication open and my family felt comfortable and less stressed about me and the effects of chemo. Laura was their go-to person. She never disappointed. I survived and I am humbled and so thankful for Laura. Laura continues to practice her profession with respect for each and every patient. She has high self-expectations and is a role model to her younger practitioners. MVHS has a wonderful, dedicated asset having Laura on board and she is. My only wish is that every patient could have an angel like Laura by their side. Thank you for consideration of this deserving professional.
