I had surgery and Lauren was my nurse the night after surgery. I had a lot of issues with pain management, and she spent a lot of time and effort to manage my pain and let me get comfortable with changing pain medication, position, ice packs, etc. At 2:30 am she suggested I get into a chair, which I did "almost" immediately felt so much better, and I fell asleep. I know she spent a lot of time with me and don't remember all she did, but she made me feel safe and cared for. When my sister came in the morning, I told her Lauren was my "angel from heaven". I have had a lot of major surgeries in the past and there is nothing worse than being in pain, unable to sleep in the middle of the night, and being alone. Lauren made me feel she was only a step away and was always responding to anything I had to say. GSAM is fortunate to have a nurse like her. I'm a retired nurse and I appreciate all she did for me. She helped me get through that first night after surgery.
