I haven’t had the pleasure of working with Lauren directly, but I wanted to highlight her commitment to care and her willingness to show up for me. There have been several times when I showed up on the 3rd floor in need of supplies. She always greets you with a smile and makes sure you get what you need. Before I knew her name, she would always speak to me like we’ve known each other for a while. One time in particular, I went to the 3rd floor needing supplies but also assistance with a patient. My patient had a rough night with her wound care and was exhausted and tearful. Lauren was there that night, and after I got my supplies, I asked if she could come down to check the patient out with me, and she did. When we got to the room, Lauren assisted me with incontinence care and stuck around to help with the wound care. I could tell she had made an impact on the patient also because the patient was more talkative and in better spirits. She took her time with her, she was gentle, and she listened to the patient's concerns. On what was a busy night for me, she helped to make my patient comfortable, and the patient was able to rest for the remainder of the shift. I could never thank her enough for that, especially since she had her own work to do. She showed up for me without hesitation and treated this patient with compassion and kindness. I know her name now, so I wanted this opportunity to give her a proper thank you. Thank you, Lauren!
