Lillian Finlay, MS, MBA, BSN, RN

There’s not one occasion but several that come to mind. Lill always comes to our rescue, whether we need help with staffing or a difficult patient situation. Her calm demeanor and openness are just a few qualities that she possesses that make her a great nurse leader. Whenever there is an emergency, such as an RRT or Code Blue, Lill is the first person we see after the RRT nurse. Lill is very resourceful and will get us anything we need during these emergency situations. She is always very supportive.

One situation where Lill went above and beyond was when a hostile family member kept calling to visit a patient, and the patient refused to take the phone calls. Lill took the phone calls all day from this family member even though they were extremely disrespectful. She handled this situation with professionalism and calmness. We appreciate how Lill is always willing to listen to our concerns about bed placement and tries to assist with problem-solving instead of passing on the responsibility to others. When we see Lill is the supervisor for the day, we take a deep breath and relax because we know she is always on our side.
