Lillian McChesney, RN

My mother is 83, legally blind, very hard of hearing, and very forgetful. Up until the last 3 months, she has been basically healthy. Lily was my mother's nurse when my mother was admitted for a transesophageal echocardiogram and a heart catheterization. My mother was very apprehensive and not happy about being in the hospital for any amount of time. Lily was so empathetic and gentle with her. She put my mother totally at ease. She spoke loudly enough for my mother to hear her and never once became irritated when she had to repeat herself when my mom asked her the same question repeatedly. She explained things to my mother in terms she could understand.

My mother had been NPO for the procedures and when I had searched the hospital for a diet Pepsi, I was unable to find one. Lily showed up with one for my mother that she had purchased herself because she knew my mom wanted one. That is above and beyond! Lily is a wonderful nurse with a wonderful cheerful personality. Her nursing skills are exemplary. She did everything perfectly and made my mother's stay pleasant.
