While cardiac team lead, Linda Lundeen fostered a consensus driven team approach to the cardiac surgery nursing team. Linda developed, coordinated and supported programs to orient non-cardiac nursing staff to cardiac surgery. She traveled to Atlanta to research and then develop the robotic assisted cardiac surgery program at OHSU. Linda continues to take cardiac call, which has been much appreciated by the rest of the cardiac nursing staff.
Linda has also been very involved in mission work with the international non-profit cardiac surgery program Cardiostart, helping develop and support cardiac surgery programs in Africa and South America.
Per her colleagues, Linda has been instrumental in orienting them to the unit. She is credited for her knowledge of complex cardiac anomalies and surgical repairs, as well as her patience and skill at teaching complex procedures to countless nurses, surgical techs, medical students, surgery residents, and cardiac surgery fellows. Teammates describe her as a great listener, calm under pressure, and an exemplary leader who builds strong relationships with the entire interdisciplinary team. Linda is dedicated to the success of the cardiovascular surgery service team and, of course, to her patients.

Linda exemplifies the button OHSU RN's wear- "I Care". Beyond preparing my husband for heart surgery, she went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable while he waited through the 5 hours of unforeseen delays prior to surgery. She was very compassionate toward me when she updated me during his procedure. She knows how to hug people with her words and mannerisms. Thank you so much Linda! You are very gifted at what you do!!"
