Linda has been caring for our nations veterans for 30 years. She is one of the most dedicated, hard-working individuals I have ever had the privilege of knowing. Linda has such a warm personality and her laughter fills the unit with joy. She is a tremendous mentor and is always the first person to step up to help a team member out. I have had the honor of working side by side with her caring for our veterans at the bedside, as well as, now getting to be her manager.
One thing that has never changed is the excellent care she provides. One of her nicknames is the "Tiny Tornado," because she works non-stop and runs circles around everyone else. The veterans who have received care from Linda rave about how great, personable, and attentive she is.
Her fellow co-workers from throughout the VA share the same sentiments when speaking of Linda. No matter where she is, or who she is with, Linda goes out of her way help everyone out and make them feel satisfied that their needs are met and that they are cared for. When I think about what being a nurse means words like selfless, dedicated, kind, trustworthy, strong, and caring come to mind. In my eyes, when I picture what a truly great nurse should look like, I see Linda Mimms.
