Lindsay was our nurse at Women's & Babies Hospital after my C-section with our first child. My husband and I had been up for two straight nights when we met Lindsay, and we were in desperate need of some rest. When Lindsay came on shift, she took time out of her rounds to sit with us and get some information about how we were feeling and what concerns we were having with the baby, with mom, and with breastfeeding. She listened to each one of our concerns and was able to offer suggestions and ideas to help. She made us feel relaxed, comfortable, and not rushed. It felt like she really cared about our well-being and really wanted to help us. She also made us feel like we were doing an awesome job and there was nothing wrong with needing to get some rest. Lindsay aided us in trying to get our baby to sleep and then she actually stepped in and tried herself. Lindsay was also able to help me with breastfeeding and gave me the support and encouragement I needed to feel confident that I could breastfeed. For us, it felt like Lindsay came alongside us to partner together with us. She made our experience great!

The first night after a C-section is rough - Lindsay made it easy for us! She was frequently checking on us and answering all our questions. She did not rush through mom/baby's assessments and explained everything she did. Her upbeat personality kept us going through the long hours of recovery. She got to know us as people, not just her patients. She was thoughtful in her bedside manner.
