It is worthy of recognition when someone goes "above and beyond" but what do you say when "above and beyond" is the norm for that person? Not only one day, but every day. What if the phrase above and beyond is the best way to describe that individual? Caring for not only the patients but also for all those who surround her in the workplace. Heading the team with a smile on her face and a positive attitude even on the worst of days when anything that could go wrong does. Directing the team as the charge nurse. Managing the care of all the patients on the whole floor but doing so with the utmost awareness and concern of not only every patient but also every staff member. Checking with each staff member frequently throughout the day to offer her time to assist them with anything they might need. Not just a "do you need help?", but a genuine heartfelt inquiry to each staff member she works with multiple times throughout the day. She is the perfect picture of compassion in a clinical leader! Care and TRUE HONEST COMPASSION is the only way that the care she provides to her patients can be described. Lindsey is always seen in her patient rooms talking with the patient, providing them time to voice their concerns, she listens attentively with an open mind and heart. She offers reassurance and the warm, calming comfort that is a perfect example of the compassion that all nurses should strive to provide. Lindsey is loved by her patients and they all talk about how she touched them and made them feel so welcome and special. Lindsey's kind and compassionate heart show in everything she does. This level of kindness and compassion is extraordinary and certainly deserving of recognition.
