Lisa took the time to personally walk me outside and ensure that I was collected before she went back inside.
On the day I went in for my spinal injection, there were a lot of patients admitted at the same time of 11.00 am. There was a woman who had been admitted in the morning but was still on the ward for recovery. She was obviously struggling with her pain which I can sympathise with as I am on mega pain relief and was there for a jab to help with the pain. The woman was crying, shouting; confrontational and ultimately ended up complaining to the ward sister and beyond. She brought down the morale of all 5 patients sharing her isolated ward. It quite obviously was a real challenge for all the staff to keep the nervous, waiting patients as positive as possible while keeping the staff morale up with such a negative force present. All staff members were welcoming and attentive even with all the added jobs Covid 19 has caused. I would like to mention Lisa in particular as she kept all staff going with her organisation and positivity. She even found time to notice that I kept absently crossing my legs and each time she told me off - lol. Lisa also assessed me and allowed me to go home as soon as I was out of theatre and even took the time to personally walk me outside and ensure that I was collected before she went back inside. This is a procedure that, due to different factors, I have been waiting one and a half years for. I am so grateful to everyone who made the day bearable and kept me entertained as I had not got the letter informing me that 11.00 am was just the admittance time and I would be there all day so I had not brought a book or anything. Thanks, Lisa!
