My husband, a State Trooper, suffered a TBI while in the line of duty. 8 months later, we ended up at Marianjoy in Wheaton. After being in multiple facilities throughout the year, Lizzie stands out amongst all the nurses that have cared for him/us yet. She not only cares for B, but she goes above and beyond to assess his meds, advocate for him, make suggestions, thoroughly update me and our family, and always goes the extra mile to make sure we are comfortable.

She remembers to bring me water, she asks how I am doing, she learned the nuances of B's injury and how to care for him, and ask for our preferences. She always has high energy and positivity that is contagious. B's injury has been a traumatic experience for us, and Lizzie brings us a large dose of sunshine whenever she is assigned to us that no amount of words (or donuts) could possibly thank her for. It is evident her heart and passion are in nursing and she cannot help but excel because of her drive. We are forever grateful that our paths crossed and that we had the opportunity and privilege to meet her and be cared for by her.
