We arrived early Saturday morning and London was really kind, compassionate, thorough and concerned for my daughter's condition and the non-consistent flux of her pulse rate knowing that she was admitted with breathing issues that same morning. He checked on us constantly throughout his shifts both days and was thoughtful and considerate of not only her needs but of my needs. I am exclusively breastfeeding my daughter and he kept bringing me water and making some jokes to cheer us up and keep our spirits high. He gave recommendations for my concerns about her not having a bowel movement in the last few days. Due to his keen eye, we were able to figure out that her pulse rate lowers and raises and is different in the night and the day. However, the overall look and wellbeing of my daughter's condition improved, and I felt reassured knowing that if I wasn't the one taking care of my daughter that he would watch and care for her as if she were his own child. That to me is the most important thing a nurse can do, to care for a patient as if they were their own kid. That is something that brings me great comfort to know. I hope to get to see London May dressed up as the leprechaun on St. Patty's day. Being that we are actually 7% Irish, we will be looking for our pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. We could use a little luck this coming month with all of her upcoming heart procedures. Thanks, London, and thank you CHLA for the quality care services.
