My daughter was very sick. Lyanne was concerned and advocated for her with the physicians, making multiple calls to report her status. Lyanne validated my concerns, included me in my daughter's care, and provided excellent support for us both.

We would like to nominate Lyanne for going above and beyond with my son's care. She was very hands-on and always concerned for his well-being and always with a good attitude. We understand that that is part of her job, but she has compassion for her patients. We think she is a very valuable asset to the unit.

My daughter was having a reaction to a medication. We did not know what was happening at the time. My daughter was in pain and scared and could not communicate. As a mother, I was terrified. Lyanne made a horrible 4 hours of confusion and fear bearable. She was amazing. She did everything and more that she could do to help my daughter, help me keep calm, and never left us without bringing someone from the staff to be in the room with us. She responded quickly to get help for my daughter. Lyanne was my angel that day. I am grateful to her. She is the best nurse I have ever had for my daughter in 21 years. She deserves to be recognized for what she does.
***
Lyanne deserves this DAISY Award for being an all-around amazing person. She is always beyond nice, always shows teamwork and always goes above and beyond for her patients. She is always willing to lend a helping hand even when she is swamped with tasks. She always has a smile on her face. The staff has nothing but nice things to say about her.

Lyanne is a tremendous asset for Unit 7C. Not only does she possess excellent clinical skills at the bedside, Lyanne cares for her patients with a large dose of heart. She is passionate about the care she provides and never misses an opportunity to sit with her patient or to comfort a parent in order to help during difficult moments. Since coming to 7C as a new nurse only two short years ago, Lyanne has continued to impress by continually improving her clinical practice and her bedside skills. Most importantly, Lyanne strives to be engaged as part of 7C as well as the hospital as a whole, in an effort to improve processes and performance. Lyanne is a credit to her unit and Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters and we are very fortunate to have her on our team.
