Besides being an extremely competent nurse, Ma Arsenia Peterson clearly goes the extra mile for her patients. My wife was at SVMC in incredibly uncomfortable pain and great distress. I had requested that Arsenia obtain medication for my wife and Arsenia tirelessly applied herself to this task, not resting with simply calling my wife's primary doctor. When the primary did not respond quickly, she expeditiously seized the opportunity to get an order from my wife's infectious specialist.
Arsenia followed that up with an urgent request to the pharmacy to speed the medication to the 6th Floor. The medication soon arrived, but after administering them, Arsenio astutely realized that they would not suffice, and quite admirably, she took it upon herself to assist further. My wife and I were both very appreciative of Arsenia's quick thinking.
Arsenia's tremendous empathy for her patients is quite evident in her nursing care. She treats her patients like her own family; she always smiles, showing great attentiveness to her patient's needs. It is this highly remarkable empathy that renders her nursing care nonpareil, thus setting her apart from many very competent "good nurses."
