Her compassion, kindness, and caring made me feel like I was never alone
I came into the ER trauma by ambulance and the nurses there were wonderful. I was scared and my family couldn’t stay. I was hurting and worried. Then I got transferred to the 6th floor and Mackenzie was my nurse during my stay. I was scared and worried and Mackenzie treated this old lady with such concern and care. I have been in this hospital before, as has my husband. Mackenzie ranks up there as the best. She was caring and compassionate. She made me feel like I was her only patient. Because of Mackenzie, I had the most gentle and caring bath I have ever had. She made me feel special, was encouraging about my varying blood pressure, sympathetic about my pain, and helped me deal with worrying about my blood pressure enough to make me mention it twice. She helped me deal with the pain so I didn’t need as much pain medicine. Mackenzie makes nursing seem like a calling, not just a job. How many people care about their jobs? Mackenzie does. She made me feel like a VIP instead of a hurting and scared old lady. Nursing is her calling. My children were busy caring for my husband. With Mackenzie as my nurse, I never felt alone. Her compassion, kindness, and caring made me feel like I was never alone. I didn’t even mind our children being consumed with my husband’s care. If the other nurses were 50% the nurse Mackenzie is, Holy Spirit would be outstanding. There are not enough positive words to describe Mackenzie.
