Mae is as selfless and hard-working as anyone I know.
This is Mae Pangilinan. She is the best nurse and also the best mom. This week also happens to be her birthday so I am extra proud to be writing this. In the 30+ years she has worked at Shore Medical Center, I have never heard her complain about work but I know how tough her 12 hour night shifts are. Mae is as selfless and hard-working as anyone I know. At a young age, she left the Philippines and moved to the United States so that her family can have a better life. She left behind her friends and family. I can’t imagine how hard of a move that must have been. When she settled and found a job at Shore Medical Center, it was time for her family to move to the United States as well. She provides and provides for her family and never asks for anything in return. I don‘t know many people that stay in the same job at the same place for as long as Mae.
When the pandemic came around, I was extremely worried because she’s a nurse. But again, she never complained, and just went on helping save people’s lives. When I heard that she finally was able to get the vaccine, I was extremely relieved. I want to nominate her because, for once, I want her efforts to get noticed. I could not be more proud of her and I know that if she gets chosen, her friends and family in New Jersey and the Philippines would be overjoyed.
