March 2024 Honoree
Maggie Alba, BSN, RN
There was a day I was break and assisting one of Maggie’s patients. While I was working with her patient you could hear Maggie in the room next door singing to a comfort care patient who was nonverbal. She was singing and talking to them, telling them everything that she was doing to care for them. The patient that I was working with also adored Maggie. She said, “You can’t really be in a bad mood if you have Maggie as your nurse,” and I absolutely and completely agree. Maggie embodies the very essence of what it means to be a nurse. She is upbeat, always smiling and encouraging her patients. She is a breath of fresh air, compassionate, reassuring, and a morale boost on the unit. She comes to work with a “can-do attitude” and works so hard. When you work a shift on 4 East and see that Maggie is working - you know you’re going to get through your day just fine. It is such a blessing to be able to work alongside her.
Thank you, Maggie, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
