Makena is the person that put the IV in my arm. I really don’t like IVs but she did a great job keeping me calm. I joked with her and told her I would let some “dirty words fly” in Spanish since she “didn’t speak Spanish”. She laughed and said in Spanish “Oh yes I do… I speak Spanish", I started laughing and asked her what I should do because I know these words would slip out with the IV. She laughed and assured me it was okay to “let them fly”. I loved it. She did a great job and came in and checked on me several times. We spoke some Spanish and I loved it. I am a retired Spanish teacher of 30 years. I loved her drive and no fear even though she was not fluent (but good).
