Thanks to Makennah's grace, professionalism, kindness, and most importantly excellent portrayal of a strong compassionate nurse, Dr. E has a calm patient headed for a procedure this week.
Makennah defines nursing in my opinion. I have had quite an unusual course of both symptoms and scheduling to remedy the issue I am having which required constant communication between Makennah and me given the symptoms I was having. That said, this began months ago, and some events were scarier than others to me.
Makennah never let me see her sweat, she always made (and continues to make me) feel at ease headed into a procedure during the most uncertain of times in COVID-19. Her advocacy, knowledge, kindness, and calm during the storm I will never forget, and my hope is she receives all the recognition and more.
This procedure has been a long road to get to for me to say the least. Thanks to her grace, professionalism, kindness, and most importantly excellent portrayal of a strong compassionate nurse, Dr. E has a calm patient headed for a procedure this week. Makennah never ever left a question unanswered, calmed my fears related to my autoimmune comorbidities, and reminded me through her actions personnel like her (and Dr. E) define exactly what I hope for with my medical care. Nurses are the heart and soul of healthcare; Makennah certainly defines that.
