Mandy was nominated by a family of a child who was involved in a motor vehicle accident. The child was transported to the hospital and admitted to the Pediatric ICU. Mandy made sure the family not only knew what was going on, but helped them be comfortable with the procedures they were watching their daughter go through. When the patient was stable and well enough to be transferred to an inpatient floor, Mandy made a point to go and check on the patient. The patient expressed to her parents that Mandy was her favorite nurse out of all the nurses she had on the different units.
