Mara Shimko, RN

It is with great joy we celebrate Ms. Mara Shimko for The DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses for her exceptional patient care of a pediatric patient during two code blue events. In identifying early warning signs of potential unresponsiveness in her patient immediately after surgery, Ms. Shimko demonstrated an exceptional level of competence and care that enabled her to quickly activate a code blue response to ensure the patient had the best chance of survival.
