Marci has a heart of gold. Recently we had a gentleman who was discharged on hospice, which allowed him to peacefully pass at home with his wife. Hospice was able to meet many of his needs, but Marci and a few other ICU nurses, who had developed a close relationship with the gentleman and his wife, continued to support this beloved patient and his wife as he passed. Marci's compassion for this couple left a lasting impact on me and my view of how we truly are a community. Marci and her colleagues continued to support our patient's wife through her grief by bringing her food, company, compassion, and love. Thank you, Marci, for being a living example of our values in action amongst those in our community who need it most. You inspire me.
