We had a bad and painful experience at an outside hospital out of state where my son had about 4 attempts to place a PICC line by a nurse practitioner and an MD all unsuccessful. My son obviously has a lot of anxiety when his doctor said he needed a PICC line. He was so nervous, I was nervous as a mom because I witnessed the painful experience he had. Today we came to Children's Hospital Colorado. The PICC team was very nice and understanding of the situation. Nurse Annie from the PICC team in Radiology said she's been doing this for 15 years. I felt relieved and I felt that she could do it. I could feel that positive energy. They took my son to start the PICC. I was praying while I was waiting. My son's smile was so big when he came out of that room, I was so happy, my son was happy. She made our day. Thank you, Nurse Annie! We won't forget you.
