My nurse took the time to pause and build rapport while being extremely attentive and helpful. She took the time to sincerely offer to both patient families that if they needed anything she would be on it. Every request was met with speed, accuracy, and kindness. I never felt alone or ignored, and she was great at explaining everything she was doing. She was personable and connected deeply with her patient with authenticity. She shared stories of her own life taking the time to discuss grief, life, love, faith, and all things that make life vibrant and beautiful. These authentic connections build trust and rapport which is crucial while tending to people in such vulnerable and scary situations. It was clear that she cares genuinely about her patients and her work.
