Maria Lemieux exudes compassion, empathy, respect, love and professionalism. She went above and beyond her job to make sure my mother had exceptional care. This is not just a job; this is her passion, her calling. Not only did she make it her mission to make my mother the utmost comfortable she could, she did the same for me and spent time she didn't have to do so.
Maria helped me feel good about my decisions and reassured me about my guilt. She talked to me about everything from my mother's condition to her life and every in between. She didn't flinch every time I called on her to come to my rescue. She never rushed but understood somehow what I was going through (am still going through) and was careful, thoughtful, patient and real. In the 113 days my mother has been in this god forsaken state, over 100 nurses have taken care of her for up to 14 hours at a time. Maria is the best for a lack of better words! She is the epitome of the DAISY Award. Maria is a perfect rose and I love her for who she is!
