Maria is a determined and motivated individual, always in motion, tirelessly pursuing her goals, earning her reputation as a diligent and industrial leader.
For over 27 years of my nursing experience, I have worked under numerous managers, and I can confidently say that none of them even come close to how Maria handles her team. She is approachable, treats everyone with respect, listens attentively to issues without judging anyone, maintains fairness, and takes a professional approach to resolving problems.

She is approachable, caring, and committed to coaching and helping her staff members be the best version of themselves. Has a clear vision and focuses on the goals of the unit. Always make sure staffing is good and have enough help. She encourages us to achieve our own professional growth.

Promotes a positive work environment where staff feel valued and empowered to excel in their roles. Her strategic thinking and innovative approach have led to significant improvements in operational efficiency and patient satisfaction. Her dedication and skills to excellence make her an asset to Kaiser. Despite her unassuming demeanor and nature, she consistently achieves high performance and excels in her role. She is a determined and motivated individual, always in motion, tirelessly pursuing her goals, earning her reputation as a diligent and industrial leader. Her energetic work ethic is a source of inspiration for striving for excellence and avoiding complacency. She rounds on staff and patients. Always ready to roll up her sleeves and assist when necessary. Actively listens to patients' and family concerns and encourages them to express themselves by creating a supportive environment where patients feel comfortable sharing both positive and negative feedback. She prioritizes open communication and values the input of her staff. Her approach increases staff morale and ultimately improves productivity and satisfaction within the team. Units have received awards, and recognitions would not have been possible without her strong support for the unit and staff.

She understands limitations and frustrations when we are overburdened and finds ways to overcome obstacles by utilizing the skills of each team member and capitalizing on proactive teamwork. No fear of voicing out concerns. She is accessible by phone at any time. She makes us feel important no matter our job title. Discusses issues and concerns privately. Encourages team outings and get-togethers as a part of positive reinforcement in growing and glowing together to achieve goals with a happier workforce. Hardworking and hard to break even when it gets overwhelming. We know she has our back, and we have hers.

Nurses manage to deliver the best care every time because their manager is always there to support the staff. Her passion and dedication to her job magnifies us. Her calmness, being goal-oriented, and wanting the best results. She mentors the nurses to be their best, she encourages to further their careers. She is not a talker but will surprise you with good, if not the best, results. She does not settle for less. She is a proven testament of “Small but Mighty,” but our unit will not trade her for anyone else.
