Christina is caring and nurturing to her patients and families as well as a teacher and mentor to our staff. Christina was our nursing SCM support, implementing the online ICU database. She was instrumental in making significant changes to the database that applied to medical ICU. She was part of the committee that almost single-handedly taught all of our staff.

Christina was also chosen along with four other nurses that were asked to participate in the AACN CSI Academy. After submitting an application along with many other hospitals from the NYC area, Christina and the team were chosen to participate along with only six other hospitals. The group has created an algorithm to manage alcohol withdrawal & polysubstance abuse patients while in the ICU setting. Christina has been an integral part of the team by educating staff, collecting data and implementing the nurse driven protocol while also challenging the residents/fellows when the protocols are not followed.

In addition, she is our CVVHD champion and teacher. With her clinical expertise she developed a program to teach staff CVVHD in real time. She does this by working with the nurse who is actually assigned to the patient and learns by doing. She is a mentor for the nursing and physician staff, she is a preceptor for new MICU nurses and is always available to give a helping hand.
