My 70-year-old husband was transferred from the stepdown unit. He had a bicycle accident which resulted in a nine-hour surgical procedure. He then developed a very severe post-op ileus. The surgical pain and the discomfort from the ileus was unbearable. He also has an NG tube & a PICC line with no food or water. Marina, from the first moment she settled him into his room that first day and every time she has been assigned to his care, Marina’s kindness, patience, and knowledge of patient care and medications have been beyond exceptional. She never misses following up on a request in a timely fashion, the timing of medications, and goes out of her way to make sure my husband is made as comfortable as possible during this very challenging time. The peace of mind me and my family have when my husband is in Marina‘s care it’s not to be underestimated. Marina is a gifted nurse, and this hospital is so very fortunate to have her as part of their team as are all the patients in her care.
