Ms. Masirol, you are one of the people who always go out of their way to lend an extra hand when a need arises in view of offering assistance and your expertise in patient care.
On this particular day In June 2017, you did the same. I had 4 patients assigned to me and two of my patients changed their conditions that needed a prompt action without delay. You acted without being asked, simply because you saw a need. That particular patient was ready for discharge and had intravenous cannula removed already. You came into the room and noticed that I was still administering oxygen, within a second you came back with an IV tray. The patient's veins had collapsed, the family members told you not to try because the patient had difficult veins. With your polite voice, you said, "I cannot wait any longer we need a line to give immediate medications". You successfully inserted the PIV that benefited the patient to get all prescribed STAT medications during the coding process.
After that, you checked on my other patient who was complaining of chest pain. Without bothering me, you checked on the system for the medications and eventually, you gave a nitroglycerine as PRN medication. You documented that down and gave me the report afterward.
Ms. Marisol on that day, you dispensed comfort, compassion, and care to all who were around you without even a prescription. You responded without any reservation to come and lend your hand. The patient's condition was stabilized, family members were at ease and you further calmed me down with your actions.
When the patient was stable you advised me to continue with the documentation while you stayed with the patient for the postcode vital signs. You managed to help me with your Arabic translation to keep the family members at ease. Thank you for coming to my rescue when I was so desperate. You are a true role model in CVT 2-North Unit. Keep up the good spirit.
