"Marlene is very compassionate when it comes to care of patients. I have only spoken to her over the phone, but each time she brings professional care and reassurance to me. Plus, I feel she is an all round Wonder and Amazing Woman!"

"I nominate Marlene for her compassionate care for every call or challenge that is put on her plate. She is always willing to help get patients in or talk to the parent. I especially had this pleasure of her being an awesome healer with my grandson. She helped me understand what was going on with him. She shows that with every call."

It seems like every other day I receive another Healer Appreciation card or DAISY Award nomination for Marlene, and I am so proud to congratulate her! She is an amazing Employee, Friend, Mother and Grandmother. She leaves a lasting impression on everyone she encounters. Marlene is the type of person who holds weddings in the park for her grandchildren's stuffed animals, and there are invitations and pictures to prove it!
I sit in Pediatric Triage quite a bit and I get to hear how she interacts with parents. She eases their minds and goes above and beyond to help them through the stressful time. You can see her influence on the newer Triage staff that she has trained as well; you can hear them smiling through the phone, just like she does.
Funny story: Marlene is a natural leader as well. On her 25th anniversary recently, I started receiving emails and calls from staff asking about plates and napkins and forks for her surprise celebration. My response was, "Well I don't know who is doing it. Everything is always just setup and ready when I get there. Who usually does it?!" Their answer: MARLENE OF COURSE! We all got a big laugh out of it as we couldn't ask her to plan/handle the details of her own surprise party! Luckily, we were able to pull it together in time, but I realized right then and there, that her reach is more than just on the phones. She really does take care of things behind the scenes, and makes everyone's life easier! I can't say enough about Marlene. She truly is a special person.
