Marsha being an experienced Labor and Delivery nurse, jumped into action to assist in the delivery of a laboring mom. The patient presented to the Emergency Department without enough time to be transported out to another facility, not to mention our facility does not have Labor and Delivery Services.

Our CNO was seeking help for the delivery, and Marsha jumped right up from her desk and said, "I will help and do what I can." Shortly after, I followed to lend a hand as well. When I arrived, Marsha was coaching the mom and reassuring the father that they were going to receive excellent care and we would do our best while also performing the clinical care that needed to be done. It was all hands on deck at that moment. Marsha instructed each member in that room on what needed to be done and how we were all going to get this baby delivered safely, and the baby was indeed delivered safely.

So, on that day, I felt Marsha demonstrated leadership skills, compassion, excellent collaboration, and, most importantly making a difference in the lives of that mother, father, and baby.
