Martha was by our side for the delivery of our son. What a story it was and we will always remember Martha. The second we arrived at the birth center we had her full attention. She made us feel comfortable and ensured I had all the right tools to make my delivery as natural and comfortable as possible. My wish was for her to coach me through and to help me not to "panic" as labor progressed. And that she did. From no progress from 10 pm - 12 pm and being sent home and told: "I will see you sometime tomorrow get some rest" to quickly turning the car around and practically delivering in the parking lot Martha was right there. She was ready to catch him in the parking lot but comforted me as I was asked to sit in a wheelchair to get to a bed. Both Martha and my husband are the reasons I was able to enjoy limited pain, a little panic, and enjoy each moment of my dream birth. Martha is an amazing advocate for her patients! I requested she not ask me what I need but offer strategies and that is exactly what she did. Post-birth she was still right there by our side. Almost like a best friend and always with a smile. She even came in at the end of her shift to say goodbye and congratulate us yet again.
