Martin took the time to explain what was happening and what tests were being run and new drugs administered.
When K first became a patient of Martin, his hearing aid had been misplaced. Martin really made an effort to help me locate it. It was especially important as it was a cochlear implant which was not only expensive, but the only way K could hear and speak on his cell phone as they were linked together. Martin was so patient when K couldn't hear very well and made K feel like he wasn't being a burden when he had to repeat instructions and questions. It was finally located and enabled K to speak with his family again and to hear those around him. K, unfortunately, had to return to the hospital a short while later and Martin once again was one of his nurses. He and I were both so happy to have a truly wonderful and kind nurse like Martin. As K's health got worse and worse, Martin took the time to explain what was happening and what tests were being run and new drugs administered. Martin not only never once sounded worried or concerned that things weren't going too well but calmly explained what was going on and what to expect when K had to be moved to another floor due to new medications he needed.
