Mary was the nurse on the first 3 nights after my mom came out of a 12-hour surgery. Mary was very attentive to my mom's needs as well as our needs that first night. The next day Mom experienced some post-op complications and became unresponsive for a full 48 hours. During that 48 hours, Mary worked very hard to keep my mom comfortable and dry. She talked to her every step of the way and tried so hard to get Mom to respond in some way. She stayed positive with us and gave us hope that Mom would wake up. She encouraged us to take breaks and called us anytime doctors came in (if we were out of the room). Mary is a very hard worker. In the 3 days she was there, I rarely saw her sit down. She is not only a knowledgeable nurse, but she is a compassionate person. She wanted so badly for Mom to wake up and it broke my heart that Mom woke up the afternoon when Mary was off. I know she would have been so happy.
