Mary has provided my husband with many comforting moments over the last six months. Unfortunately, his oncologist says this will be a lifetime of chemo, so Mary's encouragement and manner of speaking to him and always seeking him out has helped him gain confidence to go on at age 66. Mary has gone out of her way numerous times in the infusion lab to find him, even if another nurse is taking care of him for the day.
He always lights up when he sees Mary, and knows he can not only ask her any question, but also can rely on her to always help him. For instance, he was in terrible pain one day and Mary contacted Bill's doctor, got a prescription for him, and even brought it to him while he received the 5 hour chemo infusion. Mary is always trying to do something to help him in any way she can, even if he is assigned to someone else for his infusion for the day. She makes it her business to make the long walk around the area, and with her beautiful, bright smile, brings relief to my husband and me. We are both always so glad to see her, and if she happens not to be in, we always leave a message for her. Thank you to Mary and all the other wonderful nurses who care for my husband who has ampullary of vater cancer.
