Matt is often the first one at your patient’s bedside to help set up patients and assist in any way he can.
Join the RRR Council in congratulating Matthew Kim, BSN, RN, PCCN, as the latest recipient of the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses. He is a Clinical Nurse III in the 1275 6th Floor PACU and previously worked on Memorial 17. Matthew has been instrumental in the formation of the Head and Neck task force in the PACU. His colleagues consider him to be one of the greatest contributors to team morale in the PACU and described this in his nomination.
Excerpts from Matthew's nomination:
“Matthew always displays warmth and kindness to everyone he meets. He is always empathic with patients, and there's no one he hasn't been able to make a positive connection with.”
“Matt is consistently applying himself toward continuing education, being his certifications, his promotional status, and his commitment to the PACU's education. Matt is often taking on tasks to inform the unit of his knowledge and often making PowerPoint presentations simply for the good of the unit.”
“Matt is always upbeat and has some kind of personal relationship with everyone on the unit. Matt is often the first one at your patient’s bedside to help set up patients and assist in any way he can. We've been fortunate to have Matt on our unit, and it will be a huge loss should he ever leave.”
“Matt always makes it an utmost priority to give compassionate care to his patients and family members. Matt never loses his smile at work and always spreads good energy to his coworkers. He is always around to see if anyone needs help.”
