Matthew Lambertson, RN

Our unit has a patient who is on a staff rotation due to heavy care. Matt has volunteered to care for this patient any time he is working. Communication can be difficult for the patient, which has proven to be frustrating for both the patient and staff. Through hard work and dedication, Matt has developed a rapport with this patient, which has enabled him to be able to anticipate his needs and relieve patient/staff stress. You can often hear Matt encouraging and congratulating the patient on his progress. This patient can be physically and emotionally draining, but Matt always maintains a sunny and positive attitude when dealing with this patient and addressing his needs.
