Nurse Matt is a true angel. He helped me and my husband after my husband had a v-fib at age 37 y/o and was unconscious in the ICU. it was a unique situation as 37-year-olds don’t usually suffer from cardiac arrest so he understood the gravity of the shock and pain I, the patient’s wife, was in.

From my experience with him, Matt is an exceptional nurse. I work at Pukalani family practice as a nurse practitioner and now I feel that any patient I send to your hospital is in the best of hands! My husband was unconscious for Alamo 24 hours and everyone said it was a very hard case with poor prognosis. But Matt never gave up. He repeatedly asked: "Can you hear me? Show me a thumbs up if you can hear me…." Until…He showed him a thumbs-up! He woke up! He had a full recovery and the best part was when Matt was assigned to his last night at the telemetry floor (he was floating from the ICU just for that night) and he was the one helping with discharge after a week at the hospital! In summary, I would like to nominate Matt as I think he goes above and beyond!
