A patient (frequently here, much beloved) was going home with the intention not to return to the hospital. The day nurse Meagan decided to throw her a party. Meagan and two others collected money from the whole floor and went to the gift shop to buy the patient breakfast, a bouquet of flowers, and a teddy bear. Meagan gathered staff together, and everyone presented the gifts to the patient. She named her new teddy bear "North" in honor of 4 North.
Meagan exemplifies the true compassionate care of a DAISY Nurse in her extraordinary celebration of this patient's life and all the gifts the patient had to offer. Meagan brought tears and smiles to the patient's whole family.
